The market is optimistic about technology stocks, and the U.S. stock market reached a new high on Tuesday (January 27).
The S&amp;P 500 index closed up 0.4% on Tuesday, hitting an all-time high. The Nasdaq index rose about 1%, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.8%, mainly dragged down by the decline in UnitedHealth Group's stock price.
The Straits Times Index in Singapore also performed strongly on Tuesday, closing up 1.28% at 4923.02 points, setting a new historical high.

From a business segment perspective, the defense and public safety sector contributed the most, securing approximately SGD 2.5 billion in contracts in the fourth quarter, with strong performance from land systems and digital systems. The land systems business received a contract from the Singapore Ministry of Defence in December last year to produce and supply the next-generation Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) and received new orders for 40mm and 120mm ammunition from international clients. The digital systems business was awarded a contract by the Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs to design and develop an enterprise-level integrated security system for the Singapore Prison Service.
The commercial aviation business secured approximately SGD 1.7 billion in new contracts, coming from the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and Aviation Structures and Systems (A&amp;S) sectors.
The urban solutions and satellite communications business obtained approximately SGD 500 million in new contracts, involving the Changi Airport automated train track electronic system, supplying electric buses to the Land Transport Authority, a U.S. toll system project, and satellite communication ground infrastructure projects for government clients in Asia and Europe.
The company stated that these contracts are not expected to have a significant impact on the net asset value per share and earnings per share for the current fiscal year.

The offer will only take effect upon receiving sufficient valid acceptances, allowing Volare and its concert parties to collectively hold more than 50% of the voting rights of the issued units. In December last year, the trust manager announced this acquisition offer, with a purchase price of SGD 0.48 per unit.
