US SEC overhauls board of US accounting watchdog

The U.S. SEC has appointed new board members for the PCAOB, including Demetrios Logothetis as chairman, who has a long history with Ernst and Young. This change follows the ousting of the previous PCAOB head. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins expressed confidence in the new board's ability to provide effective oversight of auditors. Other new members include Mark Calabria, Kyle Hauptman, and Steven Laughton, while George Botic will remain as Acting Chairman until Logothetis is sworn in.
