Carlyle Group ranks among the top ten oil refiners in Europe
As large oil companies continue to streamline their asset portfolios, The Carlyle Group has entered the ranks of the top ten fuel manufacturers in Europe. This private equity giant holds two-thirds of the shares in Varo Energy, which completed its acquisition of the Lysekil and Gothenburg refineries in Sweden this January. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, this move, combined with its existing holdings, has elevated Carlyle's ranking among European fuel manufacturers to ninth place
