
Coherent's 6-inch Indium Phosphide (InP) mass production breakthrough: Achieving a dimensionality reduction cost advantage
According to the latest performance report from the relevant company Coherent, CEO Jim Anderson emphasized that the company is taking the lead in transitioning indium phosphide production from 3-inch to 6-inch wafers. This leap increases the chip output per wafer by more than four times while reducing costs by half. Currently, the yield of the 6-inch line has surpassed that of the old production line, and the company is accelerating its expansion, aiming to double its internal capacity by the end of this year
