Cathay Pacific: Last year, the committed usage of sustainable aviation fuel increased by 1.8 times, setting a new record
Cathay Pacific (00293.HK) stated that the "Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Program" has developed strongly since its launch in 2022, with many corporate and cargo customers joining to jointly promote carbon reduction in business travel and air cargo. Last year, program members collectively committed to using approximately 17,400 tons of SAF, an increase of nearly 1.8 times year-on-year, setting a new record. This is equivalent to a reduction of about 54,600 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions, which is comparable to the emissions from approximately 61,800 round-trip economy class flights from Hong Kong to London.
The Group's Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Lam, stated that Cathay Pacific has set forward-looking sustainability goals and, through the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Program, has established close partnerships with corporate customers and suppliers, demonstrating how like-minded and ambitious strategic collaborations can jointly promote the development of sustainable aviation fuel
