The residential project at Tuen Mun Tai Lam Chung by Sun Hung Kai Properties plans to increase to 2,670 units, expected to receive the green light from the Town Planning Board
New World Development (00016.HK) plans to advance a residential development project at Tuen Mun Tai Lam Chung, with the latest proposal increasing the number of units to 2,670, an increase of over 70% compared to the old plan from 2002.
The project covers an area of approximately 6.1 hectares, adjacent to the Hong Kong Customs College, and was previously approved by the Town Planning Board in 2002 for 1,560 units. The latest design includes 7 commercial and residential buildings not exceeding 23 stories (with an additional basement parking level) and 17 two-story townhouses, increasing the total floor area to approximately 1.3861 million square feet.
The Planning Department believes the new proposal aligns with planning intentions, is compatible with the surrounding environment, and provides planning benefits, such as the relocation of public children's playgrounds, increased retail facilities, and public transport interchanges, and does not oppose the application. The Town Planning Board will review this application today, with a high likelihood of approval
