The European Commission has launched an in-depth investigation into Chinese wind turbine supplier Goldwind over alleged foreign subsidies that may distort competition in the EU market. This follows a preliminary inquiry initiated in April 2024 into several Chinese suppliers in the wind sector. Goldwind, which operates in the EU through subsidiaries like Vensys, is accused of receiving grants and preferential financing that could give it an unfair advantage. The company has stated it will cooperate with the investigation and that its EU operations remain unaffected.
