Despite the vow of key Republican Senator Thom Tillis to obstruct all Federal Reserve nominations, Treasury Secretary Scott Basset still recommended that the Senate proceed with hearings for President Trump's Federal Reserve Chairman nominee Kevin Warsh. Basset stated that Trump nominated Warsh on January 30 to succeed Powell, who previously received broad support from the Senate when confirmed as a Federal Reserve Governor. He believes that the hearings for Warsh's latest nomination should continue despite the blockade
