U.S. media: Trump said he "made a big mistake" in the decision-making of the Federal Reserve chairman candidate during his first term
According to a report by Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he made a mistake in his decision regarding the selection of the Federal Reserve Chairman during his first term. "I made a mistake, he (Powell) was just a backup, if you want to say that," Trump said. "I made a mistake because my Treasury Secretary really, really wanted him (to take the position), you know, I didn't have a good feeling about him, but sometimes you listen to others' opinions. That was a mistake, a really big mistake." Trump then talked about his recent nomination of Kevin Warsh as the next Federal Reserve Chairman, stating that he believes Warsh would be outstanding.
