Kid Rock on Bad Bunny show: 'Like most people, I didn't understand any of it'

Kid Rock dismissed musician Bad Bunny’s halftime performance at Super Bowl LX, saying on Monday that “most people” did not understand the Puerto Rican artist’s music. “Like most people, I didn’t understand any of it,” Kid Rock told host Laura Ingraham on “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News. “I saw there was a lot of dancers and big to do stuff. Said he wanted to have a dance party. Looked like he had one. Not my cup of tea.” He added that he did not “fault that kid for doing the Super Bowl” before a massive audience, instead placing the NFL at fault “for putting him in that position and Turning Point for having to come out and have an alternative for people to watch. Poor kid.” “Poor rich kid,” Ingraham added. “Poor rich kid,” Kid Rock said while laughing. “I think he’s doing all right.” The singer, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, headlined his own show, dubbed “The All-American Halftime Show,” that was hosted by Turning Point USA — the conservative organization founded by the late activist Charlie Kirk. The “All Summer Long” artist also pushed off rumors that he lip-synced through the show. Instead, He said that there was a “syncing issue” with his DJ’s equipment. The musician claimed, “the left is trying to throw me under the bus again.” “Mainstream media, social media tries to amplify it,” he continued. “It would have been super easy to sync it up if it was prerecorded. It was very difficult for the Turning Point production crew who, by the way, I can’t say enough good things about.” The alternative performance was meant to celebrate “American faith, family and freedom,” according to the organization, which is currently led by Kirk‘s widow, Erika Kirk.
