BOC HONG KONG signed a green loan of 70 million yuan with Sinopec Corp

BOC HONG KONG (02388.HK) has signed a one-year green loan of 70 million yuan with Sinopec Corp., which is the first green loan certified by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency that meets the strict standards of both the Green Loan Principles and the Hong Kong Sustainable Finance Classification Framework (Phase 2A) in the petrochemical and energy sectors.

This green loan is primarily used for Sinopec's construction of hydrogen refueling stations and electric vehicle charging stations in Hong Kong, supporting the application of hydrogen energy as a clean and efficient ultimate energy source in the transportation sector, promoting the coverage of hydrogen energy infrastructure in Hong Kong, facilitating the implementation of the hydrogen energy industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and accelerating the transition of the transportation system to zero carbon
