The U.S. non-farm payroll data for January far exceeded expectations, with the unemployment rate unexpectedly dropping to 4.3%. Market expectations for a rate cut by the Federal Reserve have cooled, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 66 points or 0.13% on Wednesday (11th). The Hong Kong stock market opened weakly, with the Hang Seng Index opening down 55 points or 0.2%, at 27,210 points; the National Index opened down 17 points or 0.2%, at 9,250 points; and the Hang Seng Tech Index opened down 25 points or 0.5%, at 5,474 points.

In the tech sector, Meituan (03690.HK) opened down 2.5%, making it the worst-performing blue-chip stock. Alibaba (09988.HK) continues to invest in Taobao Flash Sale, with no concerns about losses in the next three years, and its stock opened down 1.4%. Tencent (00700.HK) opened down 2%. Baidu (09888.HK) and Bilibili (09626.HK) opened down 2% and 1%, respectively. JD.com (09618.HK) and SenseTime (00020.HK) opened up 0.1% and 0.8%, respectively. NetEase (09999.HK) reported last quarter's net profit and non-GAAP net profit both falling short of expectations, with its stock opening down 1.4%. Zhizhu (02513.HK) launched its new flagship model GLM-5, with the GLM Coding Plan package overall increasing by at least 30%, and its stock opened up 8.8%. In the chip sector, SMIC (00981.HK) opened up 1.1%.

In the automotive sector, BYD (01211.HK), Li Auto (02015.HK), XPeng (09868.HK), and Geely (00175.HK) opened up between 0.1% and 0.9%. Dongfeng (00489.HK) has met all "prerequisites" for the privatization and spin-off listing of Voyah, with its stock opening up 1.4%.

In the financial sector, HSBC (00005.HK) opened down 0.6%. Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) opened down 0.4%. AIA (01299.HK) opened down 0.1%.

Additionally, Bud APAC (01876.HK) reported a net profit of $489 million last year, down 32.6%, with a final dividend maintained at 5.66 cents, and its stock opened down 2.1%. Meanwhile, WuXi BIO (02269.HK) opened up 2.7%, making it the best-performing blue-chip stock. Zijin (02899.HK) also opened up 2.5%
