The catering industry reported that business at restaurants was ideal last weekend, with a price increase of 5% to 8% for reunion dinners per table
The chairman of the Hong Kong Catering Management Association, Leung Chan Wah, stated on a radio program that many citizens had already enjoyed their reunion dinners over the past weekend, describing the business of restaurants as ideal. As for today (the 16th), the eve of the Lunar New Year, it is expected that the reunion dinner business will not be as good as the previous two days, but many restaurants have already fully booked their first round of tables.
Leung Chan Wah mentioned that due to rising costs such as wages, the price of reunion dinners this year has increased by about 5% to 8%, with an average price of over HKD 4,000 per table. For corporate guests, the price is between HKD 5,000 to 6,000 per table, which guests generally accept. Regarding the business situation during the Lunar New Year period, Leung Chan Wah pointed out that there will be many tourists visiting Hong Kong during the holidays, and it is expected that the restaurants in tourist areas will benefit the most
