Huang Weilun: If the residents of Hongzhi Pavilion reach a consensus, they can allocate future public housing for "house swapping."
The government previously proposed to acquire seven buildings in Hongfu Garden, while Hongzhi Pavilion was not included in the plan. Financial Secretary's Deputy Secretary Wong Wai-lun stated today (23rd) that if a clear consensus is reached among more than half of the residents of Hongzhi Pavilion, the authorities will consider expanding the scope of the acquisition.
He explained during a radio program that affected owners can choose cash compensation, which is consistent with the current plan. If they choose "flat-for-flat" but have missed the current selection period, the authorities will draw units from future Home Ownership Scheme projects for residents to choose from.
Secretary for Housing Ho Wing-hin emphasized in the same program that the quality of "flat-for-flat" units is guaranteed and that diverse options will be provided
