California Governor: The U.S. President is destroying the American economy
In an exclusive interview video released on February 22 local time, California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that President Trump's tariff policy is a farce. After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the U.S. government's large-scale tariff policy was illegal, the Trump administration should refund the tariffs collected from Americans. Newsom mentioned that the U.S. GDP growth rate was only 1.4% last quarter, inflation rose to 3%, and employment data recorded the worst performance since 2013, while Trump and U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are "collaborating to destroy the U.S. economy."
