Starting next month, Sands China will extend maternity leave to 90 days and paternity leave for men will increase to 7 days

Sands China (01928.HK) announced that starting next month, female employees who have served for one year will have their paid maternity leave extended from 70 days to 90 days; male employees' paternity leave will increase from 5 days to 7 days.

The company stated that it currently has over 28,000 employees and hopes that by extending maternity leave, employees will have more time to care for newborns and accompany their families, while also allowing new mothers sufficient rest to better adapt to changes in family life.

In addition, Sands China has also launched several parenting support measures, including up to 6 days of paid childcare leave per year for eligible full-time employees to accompany their children for medical appointments or vaccinations; employees can be exempted from work for 1 hour each day within 90 days after the birth of a newborn. The company also provides paid annual leave that exceeds statutory requirements, and employees can convert up to 6 days of unused sick leave from the previous year to the following year as compensatory leave
