German Chancellor Merz is visiting China. He Yongqian, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, stated that China and Germany have conducted in-depth exchanges in the economic and trade fields, achieving positive and pragmatic results. President Xi Jinping pointed out during his meeting with Merz that both sides should be open and mutually beneficial innovative partners, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, promote dialogue and cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, and provide direction for further deepening China-Germany economic and trade cooperation.

He Yongqian stated that during the visit, the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany jointly hosted a meeting between the two countries' prime ministers and the China-Germany Economic Advisory Committee, with Premier Li Qiang and Chancellor Merz attending and delivering speeches. More than 60 leading enterprises from China and Germany actively offered suggestions on cooperation in areas such as innovation, green technology, and digitalization. Everyone expressed their willingness to fully leverage their respective advantages, strengthen pragmatic cooperation, and achieve mutual benefits and common development. Yesterday (25th) afternoon, Vice Premier He Lifeng met with the visiting German economic delegation. The participating German companies expressed optimism about the prospects for China's economic development and their willingness to further expand investment in China, sharing the opportunities of Chinese-style modernization.

He Yongqian further pointed out that during the visit, the two sides' enterprises reached more than ten commercial agreements involving industries such as automotive, machinery, energy, logistics, and finance. This year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and China continues to promote high-quality development and expand high-level opening-up, bringing broad opportunities for China-Germany economic and trade cooperation.
