AI tops security risks for 76% of firms

A recent Thales’ Data Threat Report 2026 reveals that 76% of organizations view artificial intelligence as their primary data security risk. Key concerns include deepfakes and cloud credential theft, with 71% identifying credential theft as a major attack method. The report highlights that 53% of Singaporean firms experienced deepfake incidents, and 46% faced reputational harm from AI misinformation. While 41% of companies have dedicated budgets for AI security, many still lack comprehensive data management, with 48% of sensitive cloud data remaining unencrypted.
