According to Bloomberg, Amazon stated that recent drones &#34;directly hit&#34; two of its facilities in the UAE and caused infrastructure damage near a facility in Bahrain. The company indicated that due to physical damage, full recovery is expected to be a lengthy process.
On the service level, Amazon has warned customers of higher error rates and decreased availability. The company noted that two of the regional data center hubs &#34;are still severely damaged,&#34; while the third regional hub is operating normally, but some services are indirectly affected due to reliance on the impacted hubs.

Bloomberg reported that the conflict has shaken many areas in the Middle East and has transmitted to global energy markets, causing oil prices to surge, and tanker shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has nearly come to a standstill due to risk considerations, with uncertainty in the regional business environment simultaneously rising.

Amazon indicated that it is working to restore full service availability as quickly as possible, but given the nature of the physical damage, recovery will take longer. The company stated that customers are currently facing higher error rates and decreased availability.
In terms of response measures, Amazon advises customers in the Middle East to back up data and possibly migrate workloads to other Amazon regions. Amazon also disclosed that it operates 39 regions and a total of 123 data center availability zones globally.
