The company announced on Tuesday that it has officially launched a global naming campaign for the vehicle.Geely Galaxy did not disclose further details about the model. Join us on Telegram or Google News Geely Galaxy previously unveiled the car's concept, which features a boxy exterior design, during the Shanghai Auto Show in late April 2025.The new vehicle is positioned directly as a market competitor to the Land Rover Defender and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, according to a report by Autocar in January.The hardcore SUV is scheduled to be launched and delivered first in the Chinese domestic market by the end of this year, according to Flavien Dachet, design studio director at Geely, as cited in the report.The model is equipped with the GVMC dynamic control system, developed by Geely, which claims to enable a moose test speed of 80 km/h and a maximum wading depth of 800 mm.To enhance off-road performance in complex conditions, the new vehicle is expected to feature an AI-powered four-wheel-drive system that supports seamless automatic switching between front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive modes.In addition to an active suspension and a unique crab-walk mode, the new car is also equipped with flat-tire driving control technology and advanced automated safety assistance technology capable of continuously evading road obstacles, Geely said in April 2025.A roof-mounted LiDAR indicates that the vehicle will support advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which are expected to enable complex urban point-to-point autonomous driving assistance features.
