BOC HONG KONG collaborates with UnionPay International to expand the mainland payment network
BOC HONG KONG (02388.HK) announced that it will deepen its cooperation with UnionPay International. Its mobile payment platform BoC Pay+ will now support payment functions for mainland UnionPay network applications, allowing BoC Pay+ users to make payments to over 150 core merchants in the mainland consumer sector.
The first phase of BoC Pay+'s mainland application payment network covers mainstream applications such as "Didi Chuxing," "Luckin Coffee," "Maoyan Movie," "Qunar Travel," "Walmart," "Ctrip," and "SF Express," encompassing consumer categories such as transportation, dining, travel, entertainment, and logistics, seamlessly connecting to the mainland lifestyle. Customers only need to select "UnionPay" or "Cloud Flash Payment" in the payment interface of the application, and then choose "BoC Pay+" to directly jump to the BoC Pay+ mobile payment platform for payment.
Zhao Le Yi, Deputy General Manager of BOC Credit Card (International), stated that as of last November, the number of BoC Pay+ customers making purchases in the mainland increased by 14% year-on-year, and the geographical range of consumption has extended from the Greater Bay Area to other provinces and cities, with transaction volumes in places such as Chongqing, Fujian, Changsha, Xinjiang, and Gansu all growing by more than 100% year-on-year
