Credit Suisse: Online retail sales of goods in mainland China increased by 10.3% year-on-year in the first two months

Credit Suisse released a report stating that, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, China's online retail sales of goods grew by 10.3% year-on-year in the first two months. Among physical goods categories, food and beverages increased by 20.7% year-on-year, clothing by 18%, and daily necessities by 4.7%. Online retail sales accounted for 24.2% of China's total retail sales.

In terms of industry package volume, according to data from the State Post Bureau, it is expected that the industry package volume and industry revenue in the first two months will increase by approximately 7.5% and 3.5% year-on-year, respectively. This means that the industry's average selling price in the first two months of 2026 will decrease by nearly 4% compared to the same period last year
