On Thursday, March 26, Meta Platforms announced that it is expanding its investment in the El Paso, Texas, data center project to a staggering $10 billion, a sixfold increase from the initial commitment of $1.5 billion.
The goal for this data center is to bring 1 gigawatt of power capacity online by 2028. In the future, it will handle training and inference workloads for Meta Platforms' large language models, providing computing power support for next-generation AI products.
