The Immigration Department expects that approximately 6.44 million people (including Hong Kong residents and visitors) will enter and exit Hong Kong through various sea, land, and air control points during this year's Easter and Ching Ming Festival holidays. After consultations with mainland departments such as the Shenzhen Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, it is estimated that about 5.43 million people will enter and exit Hong Kong through various land border control points. The peak period for outbound traffic is expected to be on April 3, with approximately 712,000 outbound trips, while the peak period for inbound traffic is expected to be on April 7, with approximately 671,000 inbound trips.

The Immigration Department estimates that during the holiday period, the Lo Wu Control Point, Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point, and Shenzhen Bay Control Point will be very busy, with an average of about 240,000, 220,000, and 184,000 people entering and exiting daily, respectively.

Currently, the Immigration Department has installed approximately 700 e-channels at various control points. To further enhance the efficiency of customs clearance, the inbound hall of Hong Kong International Airport will add 12 new e-channels equipped with "Easy Fly e-channel" functionality starting today (March 31)
