U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA): U.S. EIA crude oil inventories increased by 5.45 million barrels last week, compared to Bloomberg user expectations of a 2.3 million barrel increase and analyst expectations of a 1.257 million barrel increase. The previous week saw an increase of 6.926 million barrels.
Earlier, industry data disclosed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed a surge of 10.263 million barrels in U.S. API crude oil inventories last week.
