China's aluminium exports now poised to grow as Iran war hits global supply
China's aluminium exports are set to grow significantly due to the Iran war disrupting global supply. The Gulf region, previously accounting for 9% of global aluminium supply, has seen production hindered by conflict, leading to a revised forecast of 12%-18% growth in Chinese exports. Analysts report a surge in inquiries and profits, with export profits for aluminium sheet rising 43% month-on-month. Despite weak domestic demand, high overseas prices are expected to benefit Chinese exporters, as inventory levels reach a six-year high.
