Jackson Yee's Likeness Stolen for AI Short Dramas to Profiteer; Platforms Have Taken Down Related Products

Early on April 5, the studio of artist Jackson Yee released a statement saying that recently, the studio discovered AI-generated series using Jackson Yee's likeness being circulated on some online platforms without authorization. Jackson Yee has never appeared in the relevant series, nor has he authorized any third party to perform AI synthesis of his likeness. As of press time, "Midnight Bus" and "Tricked Me into a Good Reincarnation?" have been taken down from Hongguo Short Drama. However, Baidu, which also hosted the related works, has not yet performed character image adjustments or takedown procedures. Hongguo Short Drama's human customer service responded that the relevant short dramas have been taken down to actively respond to governance requirements. Hongguo Short Drama's official response to reporters stated that the relevant content has been modified or deleted, while the right to pursue further accountability and disposal against the producers is reserved.
