
U.S. Treasury Yields Fall Sharply in Early U.S. Stock Trading, 2-Year Real Yield Surges 31 Basis Points
On Thursday (April 9), at the close of New York trading, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield fell 0.39 basis points to 4.2872%. It rose to a daily high of 4.3189% at 22:55 Beijing time, then rapidly dropped below 4.26%, hitting a daily low of 4.2576% at 01:07. The 2-year U.S. Treasury yield fell 1.05 basis points to 3.7750%, at one point diving from near 3.8% to below 3.74%. The 30-year U.S. Treasury yield rose 1.42 basis points to 4.8968%. The 2/10-year U.S. Treasury yield spread increased by 1.073 basis points to +51.016 basis points. The 10-year Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) yield fell 2.21 basis points to 1.9260%. The 2-year TIPS yield rose 31.06 basis points to 0.8889%. Bloomberg data shows it gapped higher above 0.85% before continuing to trade in a narrow range at high levels. The 30-year TIPS yield remained flat at 2.6697%.
