The Hong Kong stock market opened lower, with the Hang Seng Index down 184 points or 0.7%, at 25,708 points; the National Index down 48 points or 0.6%, at 8,606 points; and the Hang Seng Tech Index down 33 points or 0.7%, at 4,826 points.
In the oil sector, CNOOC (00883.HK) opened up 1.7%. Airline stocks China Southern Airlines (01055.HK), China Eastern Airlines (00670.HK), and Air China (00753.HK) opened down 2.3% to 2.4%. Cathay Pacific (00293.HK) announced flight reductions in response to high oil prices, with its stock opening down 1.7%. Affected by regional tensions and oil price fluctuations, several express delivery companies in mainland China have raised prices, with ZTO Express (02057.HK) opening down 0.3%, JD Logistics (02618.HK) and J&T Express (01519.HK) each opening down 0.8%, and SF Express (06936.HK) flat at HKD 35.5.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has issued the first two stablecoin issuer licenses to a joint venture led by HSBC and Standard Chartered, with HSBC (00005.HK) and Standard Chartered (02888.HK) opening down 0.9% and 1.3%, respectively. Guotai Junan International (01788.HK) opened down 6.5%. In other financial stocks, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) opened down 1%, and AIA (01299.HK) opened down 2.1%.
