NETEASE MUSIC Responds to Controversial Ad: Partner Conducted Unauthorized AI Re-creation of Ad Materials

Recently, an AI-generated video advertisement by NETEASE MUSIC sparked widespread discussion due to abnormal character imagery. In the ad, the male character's neck was twisted 180 degrees backward while his body remained stationary. Screenshots circulated widely on social media, with some users reporting they were "scared."

On April 15, NETEASE MUSIC stated, "After verification, the cause was identified as follows: the partner platform conducted unauthorized AI re-creation modifications to the ad materials. We immediately required the partner platform to take down the erroneous modified content and implement necessary corrective measures." Investigations confirmed that the advertising platform involved was iQIYI, and the problematic content consisted of materials re-created by that platform.
