At the meeting in Hanoi on Friday, Thang said Vietnam is accelerating development in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation to support faster and more sustainable economic growth while strengthening strategic autonomy. He added that Vietnam is promoting international integration and introducing preferential policies and reforms aimed at facilitating businesses, including U.S. technology firms such as AWS, to invest and operate effectively in the country. For her part, Quint Simon said Vietnam had made significant improvements to its investment environment. The executive highlighted that AWS has cooperated with multiple Vietnamese businesses in startup activities while providing cloud services and digital solutions to local partners. She said Vietnam’s push for digital transformation has created opportunities for AWS to expand its operations and partnerships in the country. Simon also expressed interest in increasing investment in Vietnam and bringing more AWS services to the market, with the aim of supporting the country’s digital transformation and strengthening U.S.–Vietnam technology cooperation. Besides, the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister said digital infrastructure, including large-scale data centers and cloud computing, together with artificial intelligence, are considered strategic technologies for Vietnam and essential to improving national competitiveness.
