That kind of number could explain why Wall Street is treating the offering as a major test of demand from wealthy and retail investors, especially as hype around SpaceX has helped revive IPO activity and as OpenAI and Anthropic also prepare to go public.The JPMorgan role is also striking because the bank and Elon Musk have not always been on friendly terms. JPMorgan sued Tesla in 2021 over stock-warrant transactions tied to Musk's short-lived attempt to take the EV maker private, while Tesla later countersued. Both sides agreed to drop the litigation in November 2024, and Dimon later joked that he and Musk had hugged it out, calling him our Einstein and saying JPMorgan would be helpful to Musk and his companies going forward. Goldman Sachs was selected last month as lead bank for the SpaceX listing alongside Morgan Stanley, with JPMorgan, Bank of America, Citigroup, and 23 banks overall working on the deal.</div></div>
