ICBC (Asia) Signs CBETS Direct Participant Agreement With Digital RMB Operator
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) signed a CBETS Direct Participant Agreement with Digital RMB International Operation Center Co., Ltd., becoming one of the first overseas banks to directly participate in CBETS. The agreement was signed at the opening ceremony of the 2026 China International Financial Exhibition in Shanghai, according to Ming Pao, and is aimed at optimizing cross-border fund-clearing routes and improving cross-border fund transfer efficiency. After connecting to CBETS, ICBC (Asia) can open a settlement wallet in the central bank’s digital renminbi system and directly handle inter-institution digital renminbi fund settlement.
