It is understood that last week, a netizen posted a photo of a &#34;mansion owned by a certain e-commerce tycoon in the United States&#34; and replied to the netizen that it was purchased by JD.com's Chairman of the Board. According to the information, the residential area of this mansion is 13,500 square feet, and the transaction price is as high as 139 million US dollars. The former owner was Ray Dalio, the founder of Bridgewater Associates.
JD.com also stated that some self-media outlets have spread the above-mentioned rumors without verification, and there are even cases of using a large number of organized online trolls to deliberately spread rumors and defame.
Zhou Junwu, a senior partner at Beijing Jincheng Tongda Law Firm, issued a statement on behalf of JD.com and the couple Zhang Zetian and Richard Liu, stating that some self-media outlets have spread and disseminated the above-mentioned rumors without verification, and there are even cases of using a large number of organized online trolls to deliberately spread rumors and defame. These actions have seriously damaged the reputation of Mr. Richard Liu and Ms. Zhang Zetian and have had a negative impact.
According to the statement, those who fabricated, spread, and reposted the above-mentioned rumors are suspected of infringing upon the right of reputation, and some individuals who deliberately fabricated and maliciously spread rumors may also be suspected of violating public security management or even committing criminal offenses.
Therefore, Zhou Junwu stated in the statement that the claims about JD.com and the couple &#34;immigrating to the United States&#34; and &#34;buying a mansion worth over 100 million US dollars in the United States&#34; are all untrue. He requested that media outlets and individual users on the internet, including them, immediately delete the relevant false statements and cease further publication and reposting.
The statement also indicates that if the relevant parties fail to timely delete the infringing content as required by this statement, or if there are other internet users who continue to publish or repost the aforementioned false information or use infringing content, the lawyers will be entrusted to take all necessary legal measures, including civil, administrative, and criminal actions, to vigorously pursue their legal responsibilities.
