According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the urban surveyed unemployment rate in China was 5.2% in August, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month.
In terms of household registration, the surveyed unemployment rate for local registered labor force was 5.3%; for non-local registered labor force, it was 4.8%, with the surveyed unemployment rate for non-local registered labor force in the agricultural sector being 4.4%.
The urban surveyed unemployment rate in 31 major cities was 5.3%, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month.
The average weekly working hours for employees in enterprises nationwide was 48.7 hours.
Starting from last month, the statistics bureau no longer releases the unemployment rate by age group.
