The previously released data showed that Tesla's global deliveries in the third quarter were lower than expected. According to the Tesla website, the price of Model 3 has been lowered from $40,240 to $38,990, the long-range version of Model 3 has been reduced from $47,240 to $45,990, and the high-performance version has been lowered from $53,240 to $50,990. The price of the high-performance Model Y SUV has been reduced from $54,490 to $52,490. The base price of the Model Y, which was reintroduced by Tesla earlier this week, remains unchanged at $43,990. The prices of the higher-priced Model S and Model X have also remained unchanged. In addition, Tesla has lowered the referral purchase incentive for all its models in the United States to only $250. When purchasing a car using a referral code, buyers will now receive three months of FSD (Full Self-Driving) functionality and a $250 discount, instead of the previous $500. Tesla has recently been continuously adjusting its referral program, incentives, and rewards. While some Tesla fans believe that these changes are due to the high demand expected in the third quarter, others believe that this is part of a trend to reduce incentives and improve the company's profit margin. Tesla delivered a total of 435,059 vehicles globally in the last quarter, about 20,000 fewer than expected. The company needs to deliver over 475,000 vehicles this quarter in order to achieve its annual target of 1.8 million vehicles.
