New energy-related stocks have been really volatile lately. $Fluence Energy(FLNC.US), $EOS Energy Enterprises(EOSE.US), $Canadian Solar(CSIQ.US), and even $NuScale Power(SMR.US), a small modular reactor company, have all taken turns surging. Capital with a keen sense of smell doesn't hesitate; it's all about the theme of AI infrastructure and accelerated energy storage. $EOS Energy Enterprises(EOSE.US) had a weird rally this time, surging over 10% before its earnings report. It's like a new wave of brave souls emerging. I watched from the sidelines, too scared to chase, holding onto some $Canadian Solar(CSIQ.US), always feeling too passive. The short-term opportunities in thematic plays like Hong Kong and US stocks are truly tempting, but missing out for too long can easily lead to "FOMO-driven recklessness"...

$Microsectors Gold Miners 3x Leveraged ETN(GDXU.US) Recently, the strong gold price has led to significant volatility in mining stocks, and this 3x long gold miners ETN has suddenly gained attention. The logic is straightforward: when gold prices rise, mining companies' profit elasticity is high, and with the additional 3x leverage, the trend is amplified, but the risk of drawdown is also not small.

These two days I've been watching IAU and UGL. Gold is ridiculously strong, hitting new highs continuously. I don't dare to chase but also fear missing out, feeling torn inside.

PPLT surged sharply recently, now platinum is starting to pull back with much bigger volatility than gold, which is hard to handle. Not to mention UNG - natural gas spiked due to extreme weather, great for short-term plays but I always worry it'll collapse when the hype passes.

At times like this, apart from envying those who can hold gold positions, I can only watch carefully and try to resist the itch to trade.

Anyway, I saw in the news that the earnings report won't be released until a few months later, which makes me feel even more uneasy. They didn’t say anything bad, but I just couldn’t help clicking in to check. Looking at TAL again, the drop was even more direct. Although the broker’s target price is still there, every time I see the rating saying "Hold," I can’t help but wonder if I’m holding a time bomb, especially knowing it dropped a bit pre-market... Sigh, just frustrating myself...

Recently, gold, silver, and non-ferrous metals have all surged unexpectedly. Stocks like AG and PAAS, which were beaten down to the point of despair not long ago, are now skyrocketing.

FCX has also hit a new high, with copper and gold miners collectively celebrating. As someone who was cutting losses just last month, I’m now torn about whether to chase the rally.

My small speculative positions are so-so, but my main holdings are still missing out. Cyclical stocks have really outsmarted me. The market keeps rotating its focus, and only silver and gold have truly held their ground.

China Tourism Group Duty Free has been surprisingly quiet for so long, with a market cap exceeding HKD 150 billion... Its main business is duty-free, and everyone used to say it heavily relies on policy support. Now it's just over HKD 75, and the price remains flat... The community atmosphere is also very quiet, retail investors have become passive 😅 Foreign capital has been playing dead recently, trading volume is extremely low, chips are almost stuck, and even Longbridge discussions are too lazy to argue. There's no new policy news either, and the historical price has been moving sideways for a long time. It's really a bit hard to understand.

This gives Xiaomi more room to grow, which is great.

$Applied Digital(APLD.US) With the violent rebound of CIFR and APLD hitting a new high since July, my account also reached a new high today. From July to now, I also dug a pit with a maximum drawdown of 40%, but fortunately, I survived by relying on the AI transformation. Today, I reduced my positions in APLD and WULF to withdraw 10% cash. It's time to follow the domestic economic situation and make an early loan repayment, and the down payment for this house was withdrawn by me at the peak in early 2021. The Chinese stock market is so unpredictable - it can compress months of gains into just a few days. Now is another good time for portfolio rebalancing. The central bank is supporting listed companies' stock buybacks with a 2.25% loan rate, which is a long-term positive for companies with stable cash flow, reliable long-term performance and dividend yields exceeding 2.25%. For resolving local debt issues, local governments have another option - securitization of quality local assets. By diluting equity, they can raise substantial funds to repay debts. In my view, quality state-owned listed companies will remain promising investment targets in the coming period. My current strategy: hold steady with Shandong Gold and Sichuan Investment Energy.
