US Republican presidential candidate Trump spread baseless rumors during the televised debate, claiming that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio were eating pets. Moderator David Muir pointed out that Springfield officials said there was no evidence to support this. Trump said: "I saw someone on TV say 'My dog was taken away and eaten as food.'"
