Wheat futures fell 1.4% to $5.98 a bushel as traders exited long positions following Iran's announcement that the Strait of Hormuz is open. Wheat Futures Falls as Traders Dump Long Positions — Daily Grain Highlights

Wheat prices rose on Thursday, with Chicago SRW futures up to 4 ¾ cents, KC HRW futures increasing by 11 to 17 1/4 cents, and MPLS spring wheat gaining 10 1/4 to 12 3/4 cents. Export sales data showed 100,318 MT of old crop wheat sold, down 38.68% from last week but up 31.14% year-on-year. Notable buyers included Nigeria and Vietnam. New crop sales totaled 131,000 MT, with South Korea and Mexico as buyers. Taiwan issued a tender for 105,950 MT of US wheat, while Algeria purchased 400,000 MT of durum wheat.
