Oil giants brace for a bruising earnings season — with shareholder returns at risk

The National Development and Reform Commission announced that starting from 12:00 on February 4, the prices of gasoline and diesel in the mainland will increase by 205 yuan and 195 yuan per ton, respectively. The average price per liter of National 92 gasoline, 95 gasoline, and 0 diesel will be raised by 0.16 yuan, 0.17 yuan, and 0.17 yuan, respectively. Companies such as PetroChina, Sinopec, and CNOOC must ensure stable production and supply of refined oil, and relevant departments will strengthen market supervision to maintain normal market order

Mainland China raises refined oil prices starting from early morning

According to a report by ZhuoChuang Information, as of the close on February 2, the reference crude oil change rate for the 10th working day in the domestic market was 4.71%. The retail ceiling prices for gasoline and diesel were raised by 205 yuan and 195 yuan per ton, respectively, with the prices for 92# gasoline, 95# gasoline, and 0# diesel increasing by 0.16 yuan, 0.17 yuan, and 0.17 yuan, respectively. The price adjustment window is set for 24:00 on February 3, and this adjustment will mark the first "double increase" since 2026

U.S. President Trump stated that negotiations between Iran and the United States have made progress, leading to a reduction in investor concerns about the situation in the Middle East, resulting in a drop in international oil prices. In April, Brent crude oil fell by 5.22% to $65.7, while March New York crude oil dropped by 5.38% to $61.68.
