China’s telecoms giants bet on AR smart glasses with major investment in RayNeo

Chinese smart glasses maker RayNeo has secured funding from major state telecommunications operators, including subsidiaries of China Unicom and China Mobile. This investment marks a strategic entry into the smart glasses sector, coinciding with the debut of RayNeo's AR glasses at CES. The funding, reportedly exceeding 1 billion yuan (US$143 million), will enhance RayNeo's product development through improved eSIM management and 5G networks. The new RayNeo X3 Pro Project eSIM glasses allow for independent functionality, enabling features like streaming music and real-time translation without smartphone dependency.
