Cattle Slipping Lower on Monday

China has pledged to purchase at least $17 billion in U.S. farm goods annually from 2026 to 2028, excluding previous soybean commitments. Rising input costs due to the Iran conflict have increased diesel prices to $5.67 per gallon and limited fertilizer availability, putting pressure on U.S. farms. Additionally, disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have slowed oil and fertilizer flows, further impacting agricultural production costs.

India's fertiliser imports from China surged by 173% in FY26, totaling 5.02 million tonnes, as reported by the Ministry of Commerce. Russia remains the largest supplier with 6.8 million tonnes.
