    China's Huayou Cobalt Gains After Hungarian Plant Lands Another Big Battery Materials Order

    Huayou Cobalt's shares rose after announcing a nine-year deal to supply 127,800 tons of ultra-high-nickel ternary cathode materials to Eve Energy's Hungarian plant, enhancing its presence in the European EV supply chain. The deal, valued at approximately CNY21.2 billion, aims to meet the needs of premium European carmakers. Huayou Cobalt's Hungarian factory, with a EUR1.3 billion investment, will start operations by year-end, boosting its competitiveness in the lithium battery industry.
