Fireblocks has launched its Agentic Payments Suite, aimed at facilitating AI agents in managing payments with stablecoins. The company has joined the x402 Foundation to develop a universal payment rail for AI agents. With stablecoins positioned as the primary payment method for AI economies, the move reflects a growing trend in crypto and tech sectors to support autonomous transactions. Despite current low transaction volumes, industry leaders believe AI agents could significantly boost stablecoin adoption in the future.

Arbitrum-based derivatives startup Variational has raised $50 million in a Series A funding round led by Dragonfly Capital, with participation from Bain Capital Crypto and Coinbase Ventures. The company aims to enhance onchain trading by bringing liquidity from traditional finance and plans to launch over 100 TradFi markets this summer. Variational is developing a retail-friendly brokerage app offering zero-fee trading and utilizing a Request-for-Quote system to create deeper markets.
