California Resources Corporation (CRC) and Carbon TerraVault (CTV) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Middle River Power (MRP) to provide carbon transportation and sequestration services for MRP’s power facilities in California. The initial focus will be on the High Desert plant and San Joaquin Energy Center, which produce up to 2.75 million metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually. The MOU is non-binding and subject to further agreements and regulatory approvals.

NEW YORK, Dec 5 (Reuters) - California Resourceson Friday reported a leak at San Ardo Oil Field in Monterey County, California, filing shows.A discharge of 93 barrels of produced water and 3 barrels of oil was found coming from a group line pipe, according to the filing.The flow to the pipe has been shut and the release has been stopped, California Resources said in the filing.
