BYD's (HKEX: 1211) premium brand Denza will officially launch its Z9S electric sedan on September 23, about 7 weeks after pre-sales began.

Local automotive media outlets, including Yiche and Auto Home, reported the plan on Wednesday. Denza has yet to announce the launch date on its official social media channels.

Denza began pre-sales of the Z9S on August 3, offering 3 variants priced from 319,800 yuan ($47,290) to 389,800 yuan.

The Z9S offers a CLTC range of up to 1,100 kilometers, which Denza has described as a global record for a mass-produced battery electric vehicle.

The previous record of 1,036 kilometers was held by the updated Denza Z9GT, launched in March this year.

The 3 variants offer ranges of 780 kilometers, 920 kilometers and 1,100 kilometers, all powered by BYD's 102.3-kWh second-generation Blade Battery.

The sedan supports flash charging, taking 5 minutes to charge from 10% to 70% and a total of just 9 minutes to reach 97%.

The Z9S is available with a single rear motor or a 3-motor all-wheel-drive system. The single-motor version delivers a maximum output of 370 kW (496 hp).

The 3-motor version produces a combined 890 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in as little as 2.68 seconds.

The car measures 5,090 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,025 mm.

Built on Denza's e3 technology, the Z9S comes standard with rear-wheel steering across the lineup and has a minimum turning radius of 4.75 meters.

It supports independent rear-wheel steering of up to 5 degrees in either direction, crab walking and compass turns, and features the DiSus-A intelligent air body control system.

For driver assistance, the car features the LiDAR-equipped God's Eye B, running on the latest God's Eye 5.0 system.

The system adds reinforcement learning to its end-to-end large model and supports urban and highway navigation assistance, as well as parking assistance across all scenarios.

The car supports connectivity with major smartphone brands, including Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Honor and Samsung.

Other features include roof-mounted LiDAR, an active power-operated spoiler, a 120-liter frunk and a 470-liter rear trunk. Buyers can choose from 7 exterior colors and 3 interior color schemes.

The Z9S is the third model in the Z9 series and will compete with mid- to high-end electric sedans including the Xiaomi SU7 and Xpeng P7. Denza's Chinese website no longer lists the Z9.
