Regular wage growth in Taiwan reached its highest level in 26 years, with average monthly wages rising 3.09% to NT$47,884 in 2025, surpassing inflation. Real wages increased by 1.40%, marking the highest growth in five years. Average annual earnings rose 3.91% to NT$760,632, while real aggregate earnings grew 2.21%, the highest in seven years. The increase is attributed to a higher minimum wage and economic growth of 8.63%, driven by AI applications. However, 69.74% of employees earned below the average wage, highlighting income disparity.

- The average monthly regular wage in the local industrial and service sectors grew by 3.09% to NT$ 47,884 (about $1,512), the highest in 26 years, according to the DGBAS.  
- After adjusting for inflation, the average real regular wage rose by 1.40%, reaching NT$ 43,690, indicating growth exceeding inflation for the first time in five years.  
- The surge in regular wages is attributed to minimum wage increases and economic growth, with the electronics sector benefiting significantly from strong AI application demand.

MSCI Inc has adjusted Taiwan's weighting in its indices following a regular review. Taiwan's weighting in the MSCI All-Country World Index increased by 0.01 percentage points to 2.41%, while it decreased in the MSCI Emerging Markets Index from 21.18% to 21.15% and in the MSCI All-Country Asia ex-Japan Index by 0.06 percentage points to 24.06%. The changes will take effect after the market closes on February 26. Hon Precision Inc was added to the MSCI Global Standard Indexes, while four companies were removed but included in the MSCI Global Small Cap Indexes. The number of firms in the MSCI Taiwan Index decreased from 86 to 83.
