The largest power grid operator in the United States, PJM, has warned that the country may face a power supply gap of up to 60 gigawatts over the next decade, primarily due to the rapid expansion of data centers leading to increased electricity demand. Filling this gap is expected to require approximately $180 billion in investment, far exceeding the previous estimate of $15 billion. PJM is evaluating how to effectively procure long-term supply resources and is considering changing the current contract model to address the power shortage. A plan is expected to be submitted to federal regulators in May, with a special procurement event scheduled for September

On the news front, the overall U.S. public utility sector is trending defensively, with some funds in the wealth management sector showing signs of restlessness, daring to position themselves in advance. After-hours discussions in the community heated up, with the question "What is the main force holding back during the low-level fluctuations?" becoming a frequent topic. 

On the technical side, ATO is consolidating narrowly along the monthly line, with a strong concentration of trapped positions above, causing multiple intraday rebounds to stall near resistance levels. While buying volume occasionally increases, there has yet to be any enthusiasm for consecutive boards or a main upward wave. In the short term, the market is waiting for a supplementary rally in public utilities, with some funds inclined to anticipate the rhythm of capital inflow. The trading style emphasizes "small funds testing the waters, ready to withdraw at any time," while still maintaining a defensive counterattack mindset. 

It is worth noting that several energy defensive stocks have experienced bumpy rebounds recently; if the highs are not broken with increased volume, the main force often uses weak rebounds to cash out and lure in more buyers. If ATO can see continuous volume increases in the coming days, with the main force actively pushing up, then the supplementary rally space will open up; otherwise, small declines may wear down the patience of bulls. 

Conclusion: ATO is currently in a defensive position's game window in the short term, driven by speculative buying and institutional reallocation. There are opportunities, but the risk of being lured in is significant, so it is recommended to closely monitor the intraday capital and volume activation points
