L&K Engineering, one of Taiwan’s top semiconductor fab construction firms, is fully booked for the next 3-years, and the labor shortage is a rising concern, media report, citing L&K Chairman Kenneth Yao, who said, ‘AI demand has ignited a wave of fab building unlike anything I’ve ever seen - the fabs are bigger, and more are under construction at the same time, testing our project management capabilities and our reputation for getting done on time’ he reportedly said. TSMC affiliate Vanguard (VIS) sees 2026 capex at NT$60-NT$70 billion (US$1.9B-$2.2B) and 1st quarter production line utilization at 80%-85% as demand for chips made using legacy processes surges for server and power chips (PMIC), media report. Last year, VIS spent NT$64B on capex. Most of this year’s spending will be to ramp its Singapore JV fab with NXP Semi to mass production. A whirlwind Monday saw markets swiftly repricing risk following a major policy surprise and renewed inflation worries. Here’s the breakdown:
Incoming Hawkish Fed plus rising inflation (due to effect of US Tariff) , might have a change of course for SG REITS. Am not vested in US equities, hoarding Cash for re-entry when market corrects substantially..I think Fed rate will go down very gradually and not in any explosive manner. Might even see 1 or 2 hikes along the way.
