Nvidia aims to begin H200 shipments to China by mid-February, sources say
Nvidia plans to ship H200 AI chips to China by mid-February, contingent on government approval. Initial orders will be fulfilled from existing stock, with shipments totaling 5,000 to 10,000 modules. New production capacity is planned for next year. The decision follows Trump's approval of sales with a 25% fee, amid China's push to develop its AI chip industry. Chinese officials are considering conditions for imports, including bundling domestic chips.
